Copper washer, 12 x 18 mm.

Our copper sealing ring or washer with dimensions of 12 x 18 x 1.5 mm. has 5 different uses in the Porsche parts program:

1. This copper washer is used in the following vehicles as a washer for the oil filter bolt in FRAM type oil filters equipped with a 12 mm. oil filter bolt:

    Porsche 356 (1950-1955)

    Porsche 356 A (1956-1959) *

    Porsche 356 B (1959-1963) *

    Porsche 356 C (1964-1965) *

    Porsche 356 SC (1964-1965)

   Porsche 912 1.6 L (1966-1969)

Notes:

Three different types of air filters were used by Porsche on the 356 and 912 models. Generally speaking all 356 pre-A’s and several of the very first 356 A’s used Mann oil filters that were recognizable by their use of a 100 mm. oil filter bolt. The rest of 356 A’s, and all 356 B’s and 356 C’s were split between the use of Hengst oil filters (fitted with 16 mm. oil filter bolts) and Fram oil filters (equipped with 12 mm. oil filter bolts). In order to determine which oil filter type is used on your 356, measure the oil filter bolt diameter.

When performing an oil change on your vehicle, always replace the oil filter cartridge reference 912.010401. Also do not forget to install a new oil filter gasket reference 912.010402 and a new oil filter copper sealing ring reference 912.010403A or 912.010403B.

* This copper oil filter washer is not used in the Carrera versions of the Porsche 356 equipped with the 4 camshaft Fürhmann engine.

2. This copper washer is used in the following vehicles as a washer for the threaded connector placed on the oil line connecting plate that supports the oil pressure sender:
