Remarks: This crossover pipe is not used on the 911 /
911 S from 1974 or on the lightweight 911 Carrera 2.7 L (155 KW/ 209 HP.) with
the 911.83 engine Type.
From 1975 onwards for all 911 models (except for the
Carrera 2.7 L above), the crossover pipe is bolted to the right-side heat
exchanger and is joined to the crossover pipe flange (reference 911.010476) which is itself connected
to the intermediate exhaust muffler.
Thus the crossover pipe provides the link between the
heat exchanger on the right side of the engine and the intermediate exhaust
muffler located on the left side of the motor.
