From the 1991 year model onwards for the 964 Carrera and from 1987 onwards for several 911 Turbo’s, Porsche equipped the cylinder heads of its 911 engines with sealing ring grooves. Inside this sealing groove fits a cylinder head gasket. This gasket is placed between the cylinder and the cylinder head. It ensures a leak-proof junction between these two components and prevents blow-by and compression loss.
Quantity required per vehicle: 6.
When rebuilding your 964 or 993 3.6 L engine, it is recommended to replace cylinder head and cylinder base gaskets at the same time.
