These metal covering strips in polished aluminium are located on the inner edge of the left and right door sills and they hold down the floor carpet in the passenger compartment. They are subject to wear from entering and exiting the car. It is a good idea to replace those strips when they are deformed or when you are redoing the carpeting on your automobile. 

You can choose between the available carpet covering strip colours (black or polished aluminum) depending on the color of the interior carpeting of your car.
