Early-style front right trombone oil cooler, 911 + 911 Turbo (74-79)

Our early-style trombone front right oil cooler is used as original factory equipment on the following vehicle models:

    Porsche 911 2.7 L (1974-1977)

    Porsche 911 S 2.7 L (1974-1977)

    Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 L (1974-1975)

    Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 L (1976-1977)

    Porsche 911 SC 3.0 L (1978-1979)

    Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 L (1975-1977)

    Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 L (1978-1979)

In order to obtain improved engine cooling the trombone oil cooler was replaced by Porsche on the 911 and 911 Turbo from 1980 onwards by the front right finned oil cooler reference 911.010180.

The fitting of the late-style finned oil cooler can be made easier on 911/911 Turbo’s from 1974 to 1979 by the use of our front right finned oil cooler installation kit reference 911.01080S. The finned oil cooler’s increased airflow contact surface as compared to the trombone cooler provides greater temperature stability to the engine and is a useful engine upgrade when the latter is used under extreme conditions.
