The Perma-Tune model 356 + 912 electronic ignition box is designed for vehicles with a 6-Volt or a 12-Volt electrical system and is an ideal upgrade for the stock points-based ignition system. The advantage of the Perma-Tune system is to produce a hotter and longer-lasting spark that is three times more powerful than the spark produced by the points ignition system. This improves fuel combustion at all engine speeds, increases engine horsepower, reduces emissions and prevents your spark plugs from fouling.

The model 356 + 912 Perma-Tune ignition box is designed to replace the stock points-based ignition system. It comes equipped with a harness that it wired into the car. It can be mounted in an inconspicuous location so as not to alter the appearance of your vehicle.  After installing the Perma-Tune model 356 + 912 electronic ignition box, the breaker points function only as a signal device. Sensitive dwell settings of the breaker points can be ignored as dwell is electronically controlled by the Perma-Tune box. On twin cam Carrera 356 engines, one set of breaker points can trigger two Perma-Tune ignitions. By design, Perma-Tune ignition boxes are easy to install and make very little heat of their own.
