Our red « Einlass » sticker is used as original equipment on the following vehicles which are equipped with the Fram oil filter canister:
Porsche 356 A (1956-1959)
Porsche 356 B (1959-1963)
Porsche 356 C / SC (1964-1965)
This self-adhesive sticker is placed directly on the side of the Fram oil filter canister, directly below the inlet fitting.
Three different types of air filters were used by Porsche on the 356 and 912 models. Generally speaking all 356 pre-A’s and several of the very first 356 A’s used Mann oil filters that were recognizable by their use of a 100 mm. oil filter bolt. The rest of 356 A’s, and all 356 B’s and 356 C’s were split between the use of Hengst oil filters (fitted with 16 mm. oil filter bolts) and Fram oil filters (equipped with 12 mm. oil filter bolts). In order to determine which oil filter type is used on your 356, measure the oil filter bolt diameter.
Moreover in their original colours, the oil filter canister for the Hengst oil filter is mostly gray wiith a gray or a black lid. The oil filter canister for the Fram oil filter is mostly orange with a black or an orange lid.
