Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 L (1976) * Models equipped with heat exchangers and thermal exhaust reactors
Notes:
This fuel pressure accumulator is only used on the K-Jetronic versions of the Porsche 911 Carrera (vehicles marketed in the USA and Canada). This accumulator is NOT used on the Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 L with mechanical fuel injection and Type 911.83 engine with an power output of 155 KW / 209 HP. (1973-1976).
The fuel pressure regulator is placed near the fuel filter. Its function is to hold pressure in the fuel system for easier restart when the vehicle is hot. If your K-Jetronic vehicle is having trouble starting when warm, this could be caused by a faulty fuel accumulator. If the accumulator cannot properly keep the fuel system pressurized, then the fuel injectors will not be able to adequately inject fuel into the cylinders.
