Heat exchanger, « USA Model » right side, 356 Pre-A / A (50-59) + 356 B (59-63) + 356 C/SC (64-65)

Our right side heat exchanger also known as the “Older Model” heat exchanger is used on the following vehicle models:

    Porsche 356 Pre-A (1950-1955)

    Porsche 356 A (1956-1959)

    Porsche 356 B T-5 Coupé / Cabrio / Roadster / Karmann Hard Top with Type T-5 body (09/1959-08/1961) Versions for Europe and USA ⁽¹⁾

    Porsche 356 B T-6 Coupé / Cabrio / Roadster / Karmann Hard Top with Type T-6 body (09/1961-07/1963) USA Versions only⁽¹⁾

    Porsche 356 C (1964-1965) USA Versions only ⁽¹⁾

    Porsche 356 SC (1964-1965) USA Versions only ⁽¹⁾

Notes:

⁽¹⁾ Vehicles equipped with the «Older Model» heat exchangers are fitted with a cabin heating system which was used and afterwards kept for the USA versions of the Porsche 356 B T-5, 356 B T-6, 356 C, and 356 SC. These vehicles were afterwards identified as having a “USA-style” cabin heating system.

For the Porsche 356 pre-A and 356 A above, the left and right heat exchangers reference 356.010451 and 356.010452 are used together with the exhaust muffler reference 356.010460.

For the Porsche 356 B et C / SC above, the left and right heat exchangers reference 356.010451 and 356.010452 are used together with the exhaust muffler reference 912.010460.

This heat exchanger collects heat from the right side exhaust and sends hot air to the right side heater valve reference 356.010501.

It is important to ensure that your heat exchangers are in good condition with no perforations or rust so as to prevent exhaust fumes from getting mixed into the warm air supply to the passenger compartment.

Attention: This right-side heat exchanger is not used in the Carrera versions of the Porsche 356 with the Führmann 4 cam engine.
