It is good practice to replace the strut pins at the same time as you replace the hood  or lid struts themselves, in order to avoid an axle play that could cause premature wear on the struts being replaced. 

Those hood struts pins are suitable for mounting with the following hood strut models: 911.080039, 911.080039S, 911.080039A and 911.080039B.

Those strut pins are also used for the installation of the engine strut 911.080070.
