It is good practice to replace the strut pin locking washers when you replace the strut pins or the hood  or lid struts themselves.

Those hood struts pin locking washers are suitable for mounting with the following hood strut models: 911.080039, 911.080039S, 911.080039A and 911.080039B.

Those locking washers are also used for the installation of the engine strut 911.080070.
