Our Karmann chassis and paint number plate is used on the following vehicle models that were built by Karmann for Porsche:
Porsche 356 B with Karmann body (1959-1963)*
Porsche 356 C / SC (1964-1965)
Porsche 914-6 2.0 L (1970-1972)
Porsche 914-4 1.7 L (1970-1973)
Porsche 914-4 2.0 L (1973-1976)
Porsche 914-4 1.8 L (1974-1976)
Porsche 914-4 Type V 1.8 L (1974-1976)
All 356 coach builders employed by Porsche to manufacture 356 bodies in their different variants stamped the chassis number and / or the paint color code number of their vehicle on an aluminum plate riveted (in most vehicles) on the steel cover plate for the left door hinge post.
For bodies built by Karmann, both the chassis number and the paint color code of the vehicle in its original livery are stamped on a single metal plate.
Our Karmann chassis and paint number plate is a faithful reproduction (in material and design) of the original Karmann aluminum chassis number and paint plate which is no longer available.
