The Perma-Tune Model 901 electronic ignition box is designed for vehicles with a 12-Volt electrical system and is an ideal upgrade for the stock points-based ignition system. The advantage of the Perma-Tune system is to produce a hotter and longer-lasting spark that is ten times more powerful than the spark produced by the points ignition system. This improves fuel combustion at all engine speeds, increases engine horsepower, reduces emissions and prevents your spark plugs from fouling.

The Model 901 Perma-Tune ignition box is designed to replace the stock points-based ignition system. It comes equipped with mounting hardware and a harness that it wired into the car. It can be mounted in an inconspicuous location so as not to alter the appearance of your vehicle.  

The Perma-Tune Model 901 electronic ignition box uses the points only as a sensor so they will generally last the life of the engine. After installing the Perma-Tune Model 901 electronic ignition box, the breaker points function only as a signal device. Sensitive dwell settings of the breaker points can be ignored as dwell is electronically controlled by the Perma-Tune box. As dwell is not a factor, simply set the points to stock gap specifications and then adjust the engine timing using a timing light.

By design, Perma-Tune ignition boxes are easy to install and make very little heat of their own.
