In order to increase your Porsche 911’s
performance with a simple bolt-on procedure, Bursch spaghetti-type headers are
an interesting alternative to the factory- supplied heat exchangers. Bursch
headers will increase your horsepower by decreasing engine back pressure and
smoothing out the exhaust flow. Moreover, Bursch headers will also save you
weight since they are not fitted with any hot air ducting for the cabin heater
system. Your Porsche 911 equipped with Bursch headers will have a unique,
sporty growl.
Performance gain will be noticeable through
better acceleration and engine response throughout the available powerband.
Depending on your 911’s engine size and intended use (street or track use), we
provide 3 different types of Bursch header systems for your vehicle. Bursch
header systems are classified according to the internal diameter of the exhaust
pipes.
Our spaghetti-type heat exchangers with an external diameter of 42 mm. (= 41.275
mm. = 1.625” or 1 5/8 inches) and an internal diameter of 38 mm. are
suited for the following vehicles :
Track use (tuned or prepared engines) :
- 911
2.5 L - 2.8 L
Street use :
- 911
3.2 L / 911 3.3 L / 911 3.6 L
Remarks : Installation of
these header systems effectively cancels cockpit heating. Some vehicles from
1975 onwards may require different oil lines and hardware for installation.
These header systems are suitable for non-turbocharged 911 and 911 Carrera’s.
Note : these
spaghetti-type headers are sold as a pair.
During the
installation of your Bursch header systems you will also need some of the
following parts:
