This cap is screwed to the front end of the wide
rocker panel trim mouldings reference 911.080172
or 911.080174 on the left side of
the vehicle. Those wide trim mouldings were originally fitted to the 911 E and
911 S from 1967 to 1973, as well as to the USA version of the 911 L in 1968. It
is also fitted to the rear end of the left rocker panel moulding on the Porsche
911 Carrera 2.7 L up until 1973.
This chromed end cap serves both as a chromed finish
and as a protection for the rocker panel moulding edge.
The end cap is screwed to the rocker panel moulding
with a chromed self-tapping screw size M3.5 x 9.5 mm.
